Zaza

The story of the Zaza Group, the founder of Turkey’s first and the world’s third razor blade factory, begins in 1917 when Paul Zazadze came to Istanbul from his native Georgia to study. He went to work for the Georgians in Tahtakale. Paul Zazadze, who owned a shop in Baltacı Han, now Zaza Han, imported and sold products such as razor blades, razors, gas cookers and pocket knives from Germany. He built his famous factory in the 1930s. The two-storey Baltacı Han, where the Zazadze company operated, was bought by Paul Zazadze and transformed into its current form. Today, the Zaza Group consists of more than one company. The company is run by the third generation of the Zazadze family.
